Tree Planting

Join us for a special Weitzman School Day of Service with PennPraxis.

Through their partnership with PennVet, PennPraxis has been designing and implementing a model agroforestry site to explore innovations in regenerative agricultural, horticulture, and ecological restoration. This fall, we have an opportunity to contribute to their work by joining the team for a day of tree-planting at the New Bolton Center site.

No prior experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get your hands dirty! Attendees are encouraged to wear casual clothes, layers, and closed-toe shoes. All tools, gloves, materials, and light snacks will be provided.

About PennPraxis:

PennPraxis is the applied research, engagement, and practice arm at the Weitzman School of Design. We collaborate with students, clients, and community organizers to develop tools, strategies, and design interventions that imagine new futures for both urban and rural landscapes. Our goal is to share power with historically marginalized peoples, create equity, and generate new resources to address the most pressing social and environmental problems of the 21st century.

About New Bolton Center:

Located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, on 700 picturesque acres in Chester County, Penn Vet's New Bolton Center Campus, established in 1952, offers exceptional veterinary services for large animals such as horses, cattle, pigs, goats, and sheep. The campus is home to the world-renowned Hospital for Large Animals, which opened in 1964 and is known for its exceptional standard of care.
