A gathering of Penn Design alumni at The American Institute for Conservation’s Annual Meeting In Houston.

After a long day of sessions covering all aspects of heritage conservation from Neolithic paintings to contemporary art, penn preservation alumni restored themselves with drinks in the company of friends, old and new. Earlier, the same PennDesign community raised a glass to Professor Frank Matero on the occasion of his receiving the AIC Keck Award for a sustained record of excellence in the education and training of conservation professionals.

This collection of colleagues and students is a testament to his legacy at Penn and the engagement of active professionals that define the discipline of architectural conservation.

A very special thanks to Andrew Fearon, AIC-PA, MSHP’06, Lecturer in Historic Preservation at PennDesign and Chief Architectural Conservator at Materials Conservation, who organized this gathering, and shared his impressions and photos of the occasion.
