About the Stuart Weitzman Plaza

In 2020, based on a design by Professor of Practice Emeritus Laurie Olin and a team at OLIN that included Richard Newton (MLA'91), Jessica M. Henson, (MLA’10), Anneliza Kaufer (MLA’14), and Moya Sun (MLA’17), the public commons that connects Fisher Fine Arts Library and Meyerson Hall was transformed to create an expansive gathering place and welcoming gateway to central campus.

Today, Stuart Weitzman Plaza signals the aspirations of the School’s faculty, students, and alumni to bring people together through great design.

The Stuart Weitzman Plaza reinvigorates the setting of the School of Design to play a unique role in the life of the School and campus. Reshaping space at this key nexus of campus pedestrian circulation brings together the Fisher Fine Arts Library, the Graduate Fine Arts Program in Morgan Hall, the Architectural Archives and Meyerson Hall in new ways as a place where human connections are made, ideas hatched, and where people can connect with nature and the campus.
